Today is Veterans Day – a day to thank all of those who have worn the uniform of the USA and served a cause greater then themselves.
If you’re a Veteran, thank you and your family for your sacrifices and your service. If you are not a Veteran, please take today to remember the freedoms that you enjoy as an American. These freedoms and our way of life are ONLY because of the brave men and women who have and are serving in our Armed Forces. Whether we are at war or peace, taking that oath to defend this Nation is something that needs to be celebrated.
We’ll see a lot of sales and special offers for Veterans – free meals, buy one get one sales and the like. Though I appreciate these gestures, I’d like everyone today to do something that will help out our Veterans who are struggling. We have a lot of men and women who are still bearing the scars, both physically and emotionally, of these wars and of wars past. There are a huge number of Vets who are unemployed and a staggering number who are homeless. So, take a minute today and make a small donation to a Veterans Charity. I realize that many of us are hurting financially, but skip a night out to dinner and take that money and give it back. We, as a Nation, can make a huge difference to our Heros.
A sincere thank you to everyone who has served.
