The good news? U.S. Marines have adopted the Magpul PMAG M3, a great choice. The bad news? The standard issue Eagle magazine pouches were designed to hold two aluminum magazines. The PMAGs go in, but they won’t come out easily. The Marines have a solution which can help with any gear and any pouch.
Chief Warrant Officer 4, Jesse M. Schertz, 2nd Marine Division Gunner, demonstrates how to fix the fitting of the issued magazine pouch for the Magpul Gen3 Polymer Magazine (PMAG) at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
This is an old solution for a new problem. Using warm water and mixing in some hair conditioner will make the magazine pouch stretch even more. This also works if your clothes shrink in the dryer.
Pay attention Army and Air Force, you are getting PMAGs too. I bet your pouches will need some stretching.
