FN America just announced it is putting out two new California-compliant FN 15 rifles for those of you boxed in by the Golden State’s stringent firearms regulations.

Both the FN 15 Tactical Carbine II CA and FN 15 DMR II CA are outfitted with the featureless Hera CQR stock and 10-round PMAG. The fixed, featureless Hera CQR stock meets the requirements for sale in California by removing the pistol grip or thumb hole found on most rifle stocks.
“Many of California’s pro-gun residents have had very limited options in terms of what they could purchase because of the state-imposed regulations on firearms,” John Keppeler, FN’s VP of sales and marketing, said in a statement. “FN saw California’s market as an opportunity to expand the FN 15 line. This addition will finally offer a quality-built FN rifle to gun buyers who have limited compliant options. We hope to earn a few new FN fans along the way and further expand our compliant series to other heavily restricted states.”
Chambered in 5.56x45mm, the tactical version features a 16-inch free floating, chrome-lined, cold hammer-forged barrel with a mid length gas system and a SureFire ProComp 556 muzzle brake; hard-anodized aluminum flat-top receiver; M1913 MIL-SPEC rail at the 12 o’clock position; M-LOK handguard; and FN Combat Trigger. The overall length is 36.75 inches, and it weighs in at seven pounds.
Meanwhile, the DMR model in 5.56x45mm sports an 18-inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined free floating barrel with a 1:7 twist; 3.5-pound Timney match trigger; overall weight of seven pounds and length of 38.75 inches. Like the Tactical model, this version has a SureFire ProComp 556 muzzle brake; hard-anodized aluminum flat-top receiver; M1913 rail; and M-LOK handguard.
