Flowfold Denizen LTD 14L Tote | Turning errands into adventures

March 22, 2018 by Erik Meisner Leave a Comment

Denizen LTD

“In geology, the term Flowfold describes layers of rock that fold smoothly over time without breaking. To us, this word represents the strength of flexibility.” ~flowfold design philosophy. This design philosophy can be felt in every product Flowfold creates. The Denizen LTD 14L Tote is a minimalist tote with the ability to be used as a backpack when necessary. And features an uncanny strength to weight ratio. A recent trip to Costa Rica with my wife demonstrated the flexibility of this versatile tote in several different environments.

Strolling on the black sand beaches of Costa Rica

Day 1, post flight, was spent lounging by the ocean and getting acclimated to the 95-degree daytime temperatures. The Denizen carried our sunscreen, water and towels. The zippered side pocket was a convenient place to stash the phones when taking a dip. Day 2 was on the golf course and once again, we carried a few essentials in this lightweight tote. Day 3 found us on a dive boat heading to the Catalina Islands and I’m glad our personal belongings were in the Denizen. If you’ve ever been on a dive boat, you know how wet things get. Salty sea spray along with soaked dive gear. Through it all, our shirts, hats and electronics were in good shape after we surfaced.

A few days later we decided to leave the dry coast for higher ground and explore a rainforest. This involved river rafting, hiking to a volcanic crater, hiking in the rainforest, swimming in waterfall pools, etc. The Denizen LTD 14L was the perfect size and construction for every adventure. The tight closing water-resistant zippers were clutch on the river rafting trip. These bags can easily handle a bit of spray without compromising its contents. Additionally, simple shoulder straps allow easy, comfortable carrying on short hikes. Although the 14L is sized for women, I had no issue throwing on my back a few times.
