6 Airsoft Helmets For Your Next Game

A lot of people will tell you that you don’t need an Airsoft helmet and for the most part, it’s true. Unlike sports like football or taekwondo, you likely won’t find yourself up close and physical with an opponent during an Airsoft game. Airsoft BBQs also travel at a slower velocity than BB guns, which can be lethal, making the sport much safer than it looks.

That said, Airsoft is still a sport where people shoot projectiles at you. “Non-lethal” doesn’t mean it won’t sting a bit and, at closer distances, one badly placed shot can land you in urgent care. Before you end up in a freak Airsoft accident, consider picking up a good quality helmet that can offer you a degree of protection.

Some things to keep in mind about buying an airsoft helmet include its material, size, added features, and price point — all of which we’ll be going over in this list.

1Outry Tactical Fast Helmet

camouflage helmet

The Outcry Tactical Fast Helmet is a solid helmet for Airsoft players on a budget. This durable headpiece is made of strong ABS plastic and comes with integrated side rails and an NVG mount. The padding on the inside is also soft and breathable so you won’t feel like you’re cooking in your helmet as you play.

If you have trouble looking for an airsoft helmet that fits, this one is worth trying since it’s made to be a one size fits all helmet. It has adjustable suspender straps that can easily be adjusted to fit you better. For most people, this makes the Outry Tactical Fast Helmet good enough or even perfect for them. However, others have noticed that the helmet is a bit heavy and the chin strap can be a little too tight. This may just come down to differences in head size, though, so make sure to experiment a bit with the straps to find the best fit.

PROS

  • Thick and comfortable padding.
  • Solid ABS shell.
  • Adjustable suspender straps.

CONS

  • Heavy and can feel clunky to move with.
  • Chin strap fit can be hit or miss.

2DLP Tactical Impax Extreme Bump Helmet

The DLP Tactical Impax Extreme Bump Helmet isn’t going to be as durable as its ballistic helmet counterparts, but it does the job of a bump helmet and then some. The helmet is lab certified and meets European safety standards for climbing and mountaineering helmets, industrial safety helmets, and rafting and canoeing helmets. Just keep in mind that it isn’t made for prolonged use around saltwater.

For Airsoft players who don’t like the feel of helmets, the DLP Tactical Impax Extreme Bump Helmet might be the helmet that wins you over.  It’s incredibly light and thin compared to other bump helmets, making you feel like you’re wearing nothing on your head.

PROS

  • Lightweight and less bulky compared to other airsoft helmets.
  • Removable NVG mount.
  • Multipurpose, CE rated for EN812 Industrial safety helmet, EN1385 canoeing and water sports, and EN12492 mountaineering equipment.

CONS

  • Made of weaker nylon fiber polymer composite.

3Guayma Airsoft Fast Helmet with Cover Half Mesh Mask

guayma helmet and mask Best Value

The Guayma Airsoft Fast Helmet with Cover Half Mesh Mask has just about everything you need to protect your head and face during an airsoft game. All that’s really left is to get eye protection, either goggles or a visor, and you’re good to go.

This helmet comes with an integrated NVG mount and side rails that allow for easy attachment of your flashlight and other tools and accessories. The mask fits snugly over your face, keeping it from slipping and getting in your way during a game. It also comes with a steel mesh that stops warm exhaled air from flowing back into your mask.

But what’s especially nice about the Guayma Airsoft Fast Helmet is that it has a dial at the lower back portion that lets you change its size. This makes the helmet great for sharing since you can easily make it fit adults and teens alike.

CHECK LATEST PRICE

PROS

  • Made to fit adults and teens.
  • Includes a mesh mask with a steel mesh for full face protection.
  • Built-in NVG mount.
  • Soft, breathable mask made of elastic fabric.

CONS

  • Adjustment dial sometimes hits the back of the neck.

4OneTigris Tactical Helmet MICH 2001

black airsoft helmet Best Overall

Let’s address the only bad thing about the OneTigris Tactical Helmet MICH 2001 first: It’s a little bulkier than it should be given its weight. Other than that, this helmet has it all. It’s cheaper than a lot of the other helmets on this list, has adjustable straps and removable pads, and is made of quality ABS that can withstand a few hits. Of course, it’s not a ballistic helmet, but the helmet does hold up really well and has a premium feel to it thanks to its matte finish.

It’s also quite comfortable to wear seeing as it doesn’t bobble or trap heat, both of which can turn any good helmet into a nuisance to play with.

CHECK LATEST PRICE

PROS

  • Removable helmet pads make it easy to wash and change the fit of the helmet.
  • Stylish matte black shell made of ABS plastic.
  • Integrated NVG mount and side rails for your accessories.

CONS

  • Slightly bulky despite its light weight.

5ATAIRSOFT PJ Type Tactical Paintball Airsoft Fast Helmet

atairsoft helmet Best Budget Helmet

The ATAIRSOFT PJ Type Tactical Paintball Airsoft Fast Helmet doesn’t have a lot of extra features but it’s a great budget helmet with a solid build.

It’s made of ABS plastic, making it lightweight without sacrificing durability. The helmet’s interior has thick padding to protect your head from minor injuries. While it can’t be taken out for cleaning, the fact that you can’t remove the padding also means that it doesn’t shift no matter what movements you make. Plus, it fits well on most people which makes the lack of adjustment options, aside from the chin strap, negligible.

PROS

  • Durable yet light ABS material.
  • Thick and soft internal padding.
  • Built-in NVG mount.

CONS

  • Not a lot of adjustment options.
  • Padding can't be removed for cleaning.

6LOOGU Airsoft Helmet

beige helmet

The LOOGU Airsoft Helmet is a sleek helmet that comes with a face mask. Unlike the Guayma Airsoft Fast Helmet, this one does not come with a steel mesh so you’ll either have to buy your own to prevent fogging up your visor.

The helmet comes with a removable NVG mount that you can adjust or replace depending on your needs. The inner padding of the helmet isn’t removable, which makes it harder to clean it, but it does have holes for ventilation which go a long way in keeping it from smelling of sweat.

CHECK LATEST PRICE

PROS

  • Has Velcro panels for patches.
  • Removable NVG mount.
  • Holes at the top allow for ventilation.

CONS

  • Non-removable padding.
