What’s in a Glock that any other gun would be just as sweet? No matter how fast times change, Glocks manage to stay in the running for the most popular and most reliable guns. Whether its Glocks for concealed carry, EDC, or everything in between, no gun guide on the internet and before its existence completely ignores Glocks.
The first Glocks were made in the 1980s by Austrian manufacturer Glock Ges.m.b.H which was founded by Gaston Glock, hence the name. These guns quickly took off because of Glock’s durable polymer framed guns which were reliable and relatively cheap to produce.
This allowed the guns to become common place and popular for personal defense purposes. That’s why it’s no surprise that some folks wonder: “What are the best Glocks for concealed carry?”
A lot of Glocks available as of this year already fit the bill, but these are the ones we’re partial to.

2GLOCK 42 Semi-Auto Pistol
What’s better than a regular concealed carry Glock? A .380 Glock. The GLOCK 42 Semi-Auto Pistol is chambered in .380 auto and is the only one of its kind that regular folks like us can get. While it packs quite the punch, it manages to stay a rather lightweight and slender 13.76 oz. It has a round capacity of 6+1 which can be a little frustrating when you take into account that it isn’t as reliable as its 43 counterpart. Overall though? Great concealed carry gun.
PROS
- Chambered in .380 Auto.
- For ambidextrous operation.
- Semi-automatic action.
- Weighs just 13.76 oz.
CONS
- Not as consistent as the Glock 43.
3GLOCK G44 Compact Semi-Auto Pistol
The GLOCK G44 Compact Semi-Auto Pistol is Glock’s first hybrid steel-polymer slide gun chambered for .22 caliber rounds. So how does it match up to its other concealed carry Glock cousins? Well, this one features adjustable rear sights and a respectable round capacity of 10+1 which considering how low the recoil is and how reliable the gun itself is, you’re going to get even more out of.
The gun has three independent safeties making it great for beginner shooters in addition to the fact that it’s already quite easy to handle.

- Optimized for right handed operation.
- Weighs a little over 14 oz.
- Relatively high round capacity of 10 + 1.

4GLOCK 23 Gen5 40 S&W Semi-Auto Pistol
The GLOCK 23 Gen5 40 S&W Semi-Auto Pistol is one of the most consistent performers out of Glocks’ concealed carry guns. This 40 caliber weapon makes for a rather accurate shot with smooth recoil and a comfortable grip. All in all, it feels great to shoot with and has a high round capacity of 13 + 1.
That said, it’s the heaviest gun on this list at 26.67 oz but if you don’t mind that and its right handed design, you’ve got a solid option in the Glock 23.

5Glock 43 Subcompact Semi-Auto Pistol
The Glock 43 Subcompact Semi-Auto Pistol holds 6 + 1 rounds in total so you aren’t going to go action star mode with this gun. That said, considering that it’s pretty reliable and accurate, you won’t have a problem making that work in an emergency situation.
Its small frame and 9mm cartridge make it easy to conceal. If you’ve tried the Glock 42 before, you may notice some similarities as the 43 is basically the upgraded version of the 43, addressing all of its old issues such as its infamous teething problem.

- Compact frame with just around 3 inches barrel length.
- Designed for right handed operation.
- Weighs just 17.95 oz.
