If you’re a fan of the 1911, and I am, you probably root for any opportunity where Ol’ Slab Sides is picked to ride along on the hip of a professional operator (and yes, there are some operators that do still run this platform.) You may giggle a little bit at the concept of MARSOC, but the Marines’ entry into the SpecFor community has some badass foundations to draw from, and they’ve just chosen to upgrade their sidearms with the Colt Rail Gun, if the rumors/insiders are to be believed. We’ll see what the future holds, but for now, I’m saying that I’m proud to know that the Marines are still sticking with a gun that gets things done.
