The devious designer Mark Serbu has produced the GB-22, a .22 rimfire single-shot handgun that has ony four parts and can be made with hand tools.
The barrel, frame, slide and recoil spring, the GB-22 are made of steel bar stock. No machine? No problem, if you can barrow a hacksaw, file and drill you are good. The single spring required can be made from music wire or purchased. The barrel can welded, roll pined, or screwed to the frame.
Serbu’s prototypes were made on a CAD/CAM-controlled CNC machines because its easy to make changes quickly, but the design is dead basic for hand tools. Add an optic and some custom grips and you can dress this girl up.

Serbu is considering producing kits for these if he gets enough interest. Let’s show him some love, I would love to make a few of these. Do it for the children…
