Tailhook MOD 2 makes the pistol brace more useful with it’s ability to telescope to find the balance point and the fit the exact length of your arm. The proprietary telescoping latch mechanism provides 5 positions supporting an arm length up to a 12.75 inches.
At the business end is the same great arm brace we saw in the Mod 1 that inspired the Tailhook name. This clever design counteracts the muzzle weight of your pistol for one handed shooting.
The Mod 2 is injection molded from reinforced polymer providing rigidity and great strength. At 7 ounces (without buffer and spring) the Tailhook MOD 2 provides great functionality balancing size, weight and ergonomics.
I was able to get a close look at these at TriggerCon. They have been teasing us since SHOT, but the CEO says they will be shipping by September. I can’t wait. I have been playing with AR pistol caliber guns which are perfect for this brace.
In pistol caliber, there is no gas tube, they are direct blow back. This is good because they will run with very short barrels. It is bad because you need a bigger buffer. The Mod 2 has a carbine length buffer tube which supports a purpose designed 9mm buffer like the Blitzkrieg Components hydraulic buffer to tame blow back recoil forces.
Included in the package is the Tailhook, proprietary receiver extension, castle nut and back plate. Features include smooth area for cheek weld and a web sling loop.
