Testing the new CruxOrd Glock 43+2 magazine extension

CruxOrd has come out with a slimmer, more functional +2 magazine extension which is unlike other brands that are big, bulky and hard to assemble. The CruxOrd mag extension is slim, follows the shape of the Glock 43 and is no bigger than the standard pinky piece that comes with it. Their two part design is easy to install and made of billet aluminum. All of Crux Ordnance parts are made in America and are tested, approved and used by members of military, law enforcement and competition shooters.

Right off the bat I noticed how clean the manufacturing is on the mag extension, it is a two piece billet aluminum design. The finish is even and uniform and mates up very well to the magazine and the lines of the Glock 43.

Installing the magazine extension is really not a hard process at all. If you have never removed a Glock magazine baseplate before it can be a bit tricky. In the bottom of the baseplate is a hole that you need to insert a tool into. Some will come off easier than others. This magazine was a little harder, I had to insert the tool into the hole and also squeeze a bit on both sides near the baseplate and push forward on the baseplate to remove it. If that does not work you can also use a small screwdriver to gently lift on the old baseplate to ease removal. Just be careful not to slip and injure yourself or damage the magazine. When removing the baseplate make sure when sliding the baseplate off you do not let the spring assembly from the magazine fly out. Just hold your finger over the spring when removing. With the old baseplate removed you can now remove the small insert plate at bottom of the spring and set aside with the old baseplate as they will not be used again.

The new CruxOrd is a two-piece baseplate, remove the 4 Allen head screws to take apart. Install the larger front piece first followed by the smaller piece and install the 4 Allen head screws. Your new CruxOrd magazine extension is now ready to be installed in your Glock to check fitment. There really should be no problem at all with that but I like to check whenever altering a magazine. You are now ready to load magazine with the standard 6 rounds plus the 2 extra with the addition of the CruxOrd magazine extension. All 8 rounds loaded very well and function and ejection in the Glock 43 was flawless.
