Review: SOG Bladelight Camp

November 20, 2014 by Jonathan Wade 2 Comments

Review: SOG Bladelight Camp

SOG has always been at the top of their game when it comes to designing new knives. When you are outdoors and you need to use your knife in the dark, you have to pull out your flashlight and light the area where you need to work. Well SOG has just created a new knife that will make your life easier and more fun—the SOG Bladelight Camp.

The fact that the SOG Bladelight Camp only uses one AAA battery and gives you more than four hours of burn time makes it ideal for hikers. A few spare AAA batteries and you are good to go for an awesome outdoor weekend. A friend of mine who is a hunter also found the concept very interesting. He said the light would help him when skinning and gutting downed game. The knife’s built-in lights are also useable when the knife is in the sheath.

The six LED lights provide 30 lumens to work in the dark.

The blade is made of 8CR13MOV stainless steel, an excellent value for its performance, and comes very sharp. The sheath also include a knife sharpener, giving you the assurance that the knife will always be very sharp. The sheath also comes with a handy, built-in cord cutter.

The sheath features a sharpening stone and a cord cutter.

The overall length is 9.2 inches and only weighs 4.30 ounces, which is fairly light. The nylon handle is very robust and ergonomic, and the sheath is made with hard molded nylon.

The price: only $92! That’s pretty cheap for a good-quality knife with so many great additional features.

You can buy the SOG Bladelight Camp directly on the SOG website or on Amazon.
