Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig

July 25, 2014 by Jonathan Wade 1 Comment

Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig

When it comes to choosing chest rigs, Mayflower is one of the leading companies that provides their customer with well-built chest rigs. Made with 500D fabric, the Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig is soft and fits well on the body. It is also very comfortable when wearing a PACA under the rig.

The Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig can hold four standard 5.56mm magazines, two pistol magazines (the 1911 magazines fit well), two small radio pouches (PRC-152 and PRC-148) and two general-purpose pouches. The radio pouches hold my PRC-148 well in place, and are stable enough to carry a long antenna attached directly to the Mbitr.

The H-Harness has loops to keep the comms wire in place, and is also big enough to get a hydration tube through it. There is also a built-in map pocket with a Velcro closure.

The buckles are ITW-Nexus IR and all materials and workmanship are 100% made in the USA.

The Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig buckles are kept in place with very good stitching.

I took the UW Gen IV for a run and did a range with it. When well-adjusted, it stays in place and is comfortable. The magazines are easily reachable for both the M4 and the pistol.

The M4 magazines are kept in place with kangaroo-type magazine pouches on the Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig. The pistol magazines are kept in a closed-top pouch.

The price: $200.00.

The UW Gen IV rig is available directly on the Mayflower website.

I strongly recommend the Mayflower UW Gen IV Chest Rig to shooters who require a rig to be light, well-built and stable enough for sustained operations such as reconnaissance patrols and combat divers.
