LaserMax Spartan SPS-C-G: First Look

The LaserMax Spartan SPS-C-G light combines the usefulness of a LED light and laser pointer all in a compact package that fits on the accessory rail of may of today’s most popular pistols. There’s a lot to like about this laser light combo, the engineers and market research team at LaserMax really put in some overtime on this one in terms of research, design and a few very innovative features. The Spartan comes in two available colors of laser, both green and red, and uses affordable and plentiful AAA size batteries. It’s dual paddle controls allows the user to dim the 120 Lumen LED light all the way down to around 4 Lumens of light. This is the first time I have heard of a pistol light being able to be dialed down in this much, generally when it comes to weapons lights its one of two choices, On or Off. I am aware that there are some lights on the market that have a Hi-Low-Off type setting, but being able to incrementally dim the light is unique I believe. Even if it’s not it is certainly a great feature, lets take a look at the rest of the Spartan.

Long gone are the days of huge cumbersome lasers that needed a fresh supply of batteries to eat up. Lasers of the 21st century operate longer, brighter and are cheaper than they ever have been and the firearms industry is reaping the benefits. There was a time when people would look down their noses at laser grips and scoff at the idea of accessories being mounted on pistols, those days are long gone. In our opinion whatever you need to do to make your shots count is what you should do, and if you are thinking that an affordable easy to use laser and light combo is the right answer then we have found your solution.

The Spartan by LaserMax is a light and laser combo that offers your choice of laser, either red or green and a light that you can make as bright as you want up to 120 Lumens or as dim 4 Lumens, this offers users a wide range of possibilities. When you combine that with a 5 year warranty and a price point that nearly every gun owner can afford you can’t help but be a little bit excited. The light in both color choices of laser is available at OpticsPlanet.Com,  Cabelas, MidwayUSA, and direct from LaserMax themselves. In our research we have found that Optics Planet from time to time has them for as low as $139.99 for either model.

We hope you enjoyed this quick look into the LaserMax Spartan combination light. It’s our opinion here at the site that if you are in the market for a light or a laser that LaserMax products would be a great choice and will provide you with years of use. Please be sure to consult the LaserMax.Com site for exact model compatibility, especially with the Glock Gen 3 and Gen 4 pistols.
