Streamlight TLR-1 HL Long Gun Kit

Streamlight TLR HL Long Gun Kit

March 8, 2018 by Loadout Room Guest Authors Leave a Comment

I have a penchant for Streamlight weapon lights. I have them on my personal guns and my work guns. Streamlight offers a moderately priced, dependable setup that rivals the performance of many more expensive weapon lights. The TLR-1 HL Long gun kit synthesizes a TLR weapon light with an augmented lumen total and a dual-operation remote pressure switch.

A symphony can be broached across weapon platforms as well because the TLR-1 HL long gun kit is supplied with two separate actuation housings. The standard finger toggle pad switch is included, This mod allows the user to mount the light on any pistol that has a rail ( Streamlight includes spacer shims to mount to most prevalent weapons and rails. E.g. Glock, Picatinny, etc…).  The second housing is fitted with the remote switch cable port as well as a throw lever for multiple light settings: OFF, MOMENTARY, and ON.

The Switch itself ships with two small rail cover sections that allow the switch to be nestled into a “pouch” on the rail itself. The switch has two methods of activation; a solid single depression will activate the beam, while a quick double tap of the switch will enact the strobe function of the light.

The light is lightweight, compact, and well made. Its aluminum chassis protects the brilliant 800 lumens of C4 LED lighting that emanates from the weapon light all the while providing a waterproof housing. Positive target ID beyond 25m is ludicrously easy both at the center cone of the light as well as its periphery light spill.  At only 4.18 oz, it will not encumber the rifle’s balance point more towards the muzzle.

If you are looking for a high performing, compact light setup without breaking the bank, the Streamlight TLR-1 HL Long Gun kit deserves a more modest look. It is a fine choice that is backed by a lifetime warranty.
